If you are enquiring from outside of the UK, I am able to ship to a freight-forwarding company or you are welcome to arrange your own courier collection from my address – please get in touch first.
If you are local to Kiln’s home in Bristol, you will have the option at checkout of a reduced delivery cost. Qualifying orders must meet a minimum spend of £120 + be within a 15km radius. The same terms of our independent courier service apply.
WHEN
Kiln is a one-woman business, with everything seen here + behind the scenes tackled solo. I will always do my best to dispatch your orders as soon as possible. But most importantly your order is handled with care + this can sometimes take as little longer. If you need your order sooner than the below timeframes, please contact me.
Packaged orders are shipped a handful of times a week on a next day or 48hr service. I aim to avoid your parcel being held in a warehouse over the weekend. Deliveries are made within 10 days of order.
For large orders shipped with an independent courier, timescales are dependent on the delivery location, most deliveries are made within 2 weeks. Deliveries are made 7 days a week - typically between 8am - 6pm on a date previously agreed between you + the courier.
WHO + HOW
Kiln orders that can be boxed are shipped with ParcelForce or DPD Local. Tracking information will be sent to you via email.
Larger items will be sent with an independent courier company on a blanket wrapped service. Typically, a one-man delivery service is used + help may be needed unloading. The courier company will contact you ahead of your delivery to make arrangements + will update you on your delivery.
Please inspect items upon delivery, acceptance of item delivery is assumed that you are satisfied + that no damage has occurred in transit.
LOCAL PICK-UP
If you are local or happy to make a day trip, pick-up can be scheduled free of charge from our Bristol address. Select this option at checkout (please check product dimensions + ensure your vehicle size is adequate).
Once your order is processed I will contact you to arrange a suitable time + day to collect. Kiln is run from a family home, I will do my utmost to be flexible but availability may vary. Please do not attempt to collect until I have confirmed.
If you are unable to make your agreed time please give notice to rearrange. You will be responsible for the item(s) on collection, so please bring any necessary protective packaging such as blankets with you.
SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING
All parcels are sent with reused boxes + packing materials – sourced from local businesses. I try to make boxes look tidy but from time to time may be branded with other company information. More importantly, I always ensure that parcels are well wrapped + protected. Where possible, please recycle.
RETURNS
ARRIVED DAMAGED
If items are found damaged on receipt, please contact me with photos.
For irreparable damage, a full refund will be issued. Where there is the possibility for a repair, the assessment of damage is at Kilns discretion. Pottery is generally not covered by courier insurance + costs incurred to rectify damage may not be feasible.
Refunds are made within 10 days.
OTHER RETURNS
If you wish to return an item, please contact me within 14 days + I will provide you with the returns address. Refund will exclude delivery + return shipping which you must arrange + pay for. Returns must be made within 14 days once Kiln is notified, please ensure the return is suitably packaged + obtain proof of postage. The returned item will need to arrive in the same condition it was sent. If an item incurs damage, or the parcel goes missing, Kiln cannot be responsible for any loss in value + this will affect the amount refunded. Please note that pottery is generally not covered by courier insurance.
The cost of returned items will be refunded within 10 days of the receipt of the return.
CANCELLING AN ORDER
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact me as soon as possible, it will not be possible to cancel an order once it has been dispatched.
Please note that cancelling an order may incur a transaction cost charge that will be deducted from the total refund issued.
HELP
MISSING PARCEL
All parcels are sent tracked, tracking details can be found in your email inbox. If you need further help chasing a delayed or missing parcel, contact me + I will log a query with the relevant shipping provider.
Once dispatched, Kiln cannot be held responsible for any shipping delays + is unable to accept responsibility for missing parcels if the address supplied was incorrect.
INDEPENDENT COURIER ISSUES
Our courier should have made contact with you to make all necessary arrangements for your delivery. If I can help liaise please get in touch.
No longer available for arrange delivery - if you need to make changes to your delivery date, please give plenty of notice, if you have been in contact with the couriers please contact them directly.
Courier hasn’t turned up – please allow a few hours flexibility either side of your prearranged time. After this time, please contact me. Please note, Kiln cannot be responsible in the case that the courier is unable to deliver due to an incorrect address being supplied or multiple failed attempts to reach you. Additional costs incurred to return your order will be your responsibility.
Item has arrived damaged – please take photos of the damage + email to me. If the damage is beyond repair please refuse the delivery + contact me.
AVOID THE NEED FOR A RETURN
Returns postage costs will vary subject to parcel weight, as many of Kiln's items are heavy, this can be quite an expense but an avoidable additional cost.
